If you have ever wanted to step into the heart of the mountain and get to know the world underground, Cerovačke Caves are the perfect choice. Located in the southern part of Velebit Nature Park, these caves are among the most important speleological sites in Croatia. The first parts of the Lower and Upper caves are tourist-arranged – you will pass by millennial speleothems and see real traces of cave bears. Besides natural wonders, the caves preserve valuable archaeological finds. A light walk through the forest leads to the caves (10-15 min), and the tour itself lasts about an hour.
